Did you know there are currently no laws to guarantee that health and beauty care products labelled as organic are indeed organic? EU organic regulations only cover farming and food production.

That’s why VOYA products have sought or are seeking organic certification for all of our products. This means when you buy VOYA health and beauty products, or have a VOYA Seaweed Baths therapy, you can be sure that it has been independently verified as organic.

The standards are based on principles that require the maximum amount of organic ingredients, minimum synthetic ingredients, minimum processing of ingredients and clear labelling so that you can make an informed choice about the product you are purchasing. The standards also contain criteria that means ingredients must be assessed to not be harmful to human health and their manufacture and use must cause minimum environmental impact.

The strength of the certification lies not only in what you must include (Organic ingredients), but also what you may not use. Many “Natural” and natural looking products cynically flaunt a weak legislative framework to give the impression that you are getting a good natural product. The only defence to this is to seek a product with an Organic certification.

Many of today’s beauty products are made up of varying mixtures of synthetically produced chemicals and these chemicals vary in their ability to penetrate the skin. Some are absorbed in small amounts, while some easily reach the blood vessels below the skin and are transported around the body.

While some natural products may contain very small amounts of these ingredients, what is concern for us and many others is the cumulative effect of applying various products regularly. Many chemicals found in cosmetics do not cause obvious immediate signs of toxicity, but might slowly damage us through repeated use on our skin and we have grave concerns over the long term effects this may have on our bodies. Over the last few years there have been certain cosmetic ingredients that have been highlighted in the media due to their links with health scares, which has led some people to choosing organic as a safer alternative.

A certified Organic Product offers you the reassurance that all of the ingredients are safe for you and your family. In addition people that suffer from sensitive skin or conditions such as eczema or psoriasis report that organic skin care products work better for them as they contain either tiny amounts of synthetic chemicals, or no synthetic chemicals at all. Some companies will omit to tell you that some of the ingredients used in their products can sometimes be health hazards. But this is no reason to be uninformed. No one wants to be at risk for allergic reactions, irritations and dermatitis.

Many drugs on the market today are administered through transdermal skin patches, which have been shown to be up to 95% more effective than oral medication. This demonstrates that the skin, the largest organ of the body and our first line of immunity, absorbs products and their ingredients. So if you put it on your skin, you can safely say you have eaten it!

Artificial Colours or Fragrances, GM Ingredients, Dioxins, Petrochemicals, Mineral Oils, Parabens, Animal derivatives, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Propylene Glycol, Petrolatum, Hexane, Phthalates, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Aluminium & Animal Derived Ingredients.

Every product that contains water has a preservative in it. Conventional Natural product use strong oils which preserve the product, but are quite pungent and can be irritating or much worse synthetic preservatives like Parabens and Urea’s. We use a step process to naturally preserving our products. This simply means instead of putting in one/two potent synthetic preservative we use a combination of natural preservatives to achieve the same effect. For example the first and largest natural preservative used in VOYA Softly Does It is Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera was used to heal wounds by the Aztecs, what they realised and we have ignored is that Aloe Vera has anti-bacterial properties, which inhibits infection or fungal growth. The second step is the use of Oils high in anti-oxidants. Anti-oxidants are often used in small proportions by conventional products as they attack free-radicals in the body and slow the ageing process. They also perform the same function in cosmetic formulations, preserving the product.

What is often a “high value” trace ingredient for most cosmetics is major component of VOYA products! Finally VOYA use food grade preservatives (you eat them every day in your jams and pickles) that are independently verified as safe for you and the environment.
